System requirements for the Offboard Diagnostic Information System software

The Offboard Diagnostic Information System Service is the software that provides you vehicle diagnosis functions. It comes with support for an interface that complies with SAE J2534 (diagnostic interface). This software enables you to diagnose all models of Volkswagen Anhui.

Furthermore, you have access to the following information during the vehicle diagnosis:

  • Vehicle data
  • Repair manuals
  • Circuit diagrams
  • Field actions
  • Technical product information

This information is only available in the diagnostic software during an active diagnostic session.

The following requirements must be met in order to operate the Offboard Diagnostic Information System Service software:

  • Operating system: Microsoft® Windows 10 (64 Bit)
  • CPU: at least 2 GHz
  • RAM: at least 4 GB + activated virtual memory
  • Hard drive: at least 100 GB free memory
  • Graphics: at least: 1024 x 768
  • Miscellaneous:
    • One free USB port for the diagnostic interface
    • Online connection

The following VAS diagnostic interfaces are supported:

  • VAS 6154
  • VAS 6154A
  • VAS 6154B

It is recommended to use the USB connection type.

When using the Wi-Fi infrastructure, an address conflict may occur if the IPv4 address range 192.168.250.x is used in the local subnet. Communication between the tester, diagnostic interface and vehicle is not established because the vehicle subnet also has the IPv4 address range 192.168.250.x permanently implemented. Currently, the only recommended solution is to change the address range of the local subnet. Please contact your responsible administrator.

In addition to the VAS diagnostic interfaces mentioned, other SAE J2534-compliant diagnostic interfaces are supported by the Offboard Diagnostic Information System. To start up, the respective box should be connected to the diagnostic tester via the USB port and the appropriate driver software installed before starting the ODIS Service.

With SAE-J2534 conform interface must be validated for communication with the ODIS Service. Information as to whether the device is already validated can be requested from the respective manufacturer of the PassThru device. No support can be guaranteed by ODIS Service for PassThru devices that are not validated.
